Round 1: REG rally past AS Sale

The Regular Season in Basketball Africa League just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Rwandan REG defeated Moroccan AS Sale in Kigali 91-87. REG looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Anthony Walker (206-1993, college: UT Arlington) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-1991, college: Maryland) responded with 32 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AS Sale will play next round against Fer.Beira trying to get back on the winning streak. REG will try to continue on its current victory against SLAC in Conakry.

Ater Majok fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. William Perry produced 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. US Monastir will meet SLAC in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fer.Beira will play against AS Sale and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

DUC Dakar - SLAC 70-85
